i am resigned to the fact that i won't be able to watch the swing out sister concert next week so i decided to give myself the usual kind of reward: another neil gaiman book, which i haven't read before. it's funny but the theme is timely, too. in 1999, a filmmaker, who is dying, makes his last film about the impending apocalypse of 999AD. but no one will be able to watch it. he's only making it in his head.
i was only able to digest some of its parts. i think it's too much of dave mckean and less of neil gaiman. i'll read it again 10 years from now. maybe i'll appreciate the whole idea of it then.
