i just came out of the church. saw a very old (but still agile) man looking at me as i was walking towards him. could not discern his facial expression at first. suddenly, as i walk past him, he said,
"ang lungkot ng christmas natin, neng."
i paused. then looked back. and smiled. he was smiling at me.
"oo nga po, eh."
"ay talaga namang ang hirap ngayon..."
''gaganda din yan manong kasi pangit ngayon."
"dadating din...oo, tiis lang."
"hintay lang tayo manong."
hintay lang tayo, manong. salamat po.
